Every family law matter is unique, requiring creative and innovative solutions for families in transition. Through zealous advocacy and pragmatic strategy, Lindsay Barbee helps her clients navigate the legal system with compassion and clarity, no matter how complex their challenges. She advocates with passion and ferocity but doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to problem solving. Her years of experience and diverse practice have taught her that few families benefit emotionally or financially from resolving deeply personal issues in the courtroom. Committed to providing clients with alternatives to traditional litigation, she has devoted hundreds of hours developing her negotiation skills and pursuing advanced training in mediation, collaborate law, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Ms. Barbee graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University in 2005, and received her Juris Doctorate from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 2008. In 2020, she completed 70 hours of continuing legal education to become a court-appointed mediator for both civil and family law matters. Ms. Barbee was so inspired by the techniques she learned in mediator training that she agreed to return to the classroom as a guest lecturer, mentoring attorneys, mental health professionals, judges, CEOs, and other like-minded individuals in resolving conflict with as little collateral damage as possible to the families involved.

She donates her time and resources to various legal organizations and nonprofits that provide services to underserved communities. Her journey has taken her everywhere from West Texas to Westminster to the White House, but she’s a Dallas girl at heart, and loves being close to her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews (two-legged and four-legged).

Helping families navigate the often overwhelming legal system with compassion is Ms. Barbee’s passion, and she is grateful to work alongside a team of professionals who are dedicated to doing just that. “The team at Hargrave Family Law keeps the client as the focus in everything they do, assuring that they support the client every step of the way. That’s the way I practice, and I’m thrilled to be part of a firm that is so focused on helping clients collaboratively work towards a solution that works for their family.”
