Skye McDonald MacLaren

Skye McDonald MacLaren is passionate about the firm’s mission to help their clients move on to the next chapter of their life’s journey with hope and confidence. With her unique dual career in both law and education, as well as her personal experience with divorce, she is especially equipped to support our clients and their families with compassion and true understanding. She provides insight and a valuable contribution to the firm’s understanding of the effect divorce can have on the family structure and the children, potential ways to minimize those effects, and the identification of supportive resources for parents.

Skye is an accomplished paralegal with two decades of experience in the legal profession. She has actively participated in all phases of civil litigation, including complex cases surrounding family law, product liability, medical malpractice, and environmental and insurance defense. Skye also achieved a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She has significant experience in her dual career working with children and families in both public and private educational institutions both as an educator and in school management. She also has nearly a decade’s experience in supervising business operations, staff management, policy & procedure creation and implementation, human resources oversight, and fostering community relations.

Among other organizations, Skye is an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators; the State Bar of Texas, Legal Assistants Division; the National Federation of Paralegals Association; and the Dallas Association of Legal Assistants. Skye is also a registered Notary Public.

Skye lives in the Dallas metroplex with her family, where she is an active volunteer at her church and her child’s school. Skye enjoys joining her son in exploring the world through travel, expressing joy through music and musical theater, brightening their corner of the world through gardening, and being of service to their local community. Skye has been a long-time PTA board member and proponent, Band Booster committee member, and is an avid volunteer to support her local school’s students and programs. She is most passionate about advocating for children and families, promoting environmental and marine conservation, supporting local theater and fine arts programs, and fostering food allergy awareness.

Skye is grateful to be part of a team that offers an alternative to the often-destructive legal process of divorce. “I am particularly focused on serving our clients and their families by helping them emerge from this period of their lives stronger and renewed with hope. My life is a testament that there’s a better way through the divorce process that preserves grace and dignity, and which leads to restoring a better life for everyone in the family.”
