Katherine Zimmermann is a dedicated family law attorney who is passionate about minimizing conflict and guiding clients toward amicable, forward-focused resolutions. With over a decade of family law experience, Katherine is known for her commitment to negotiation, strategy, and creative problem-solving. Her training as a mediator enhances her ability to assist clients in resolving complex legal disputes peacefully and effectively.

Katherine earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Economics from West Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then attended Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law on a Dean’s Scholarship, where she gained practical legal experience through her work as a student attorney in the SMU Civil/Consumer Clinic. She has since practiced with two of Dallas’ top boutique family law firms and has experience handling complex property division, child custody matters, and collaborative law cases.

Katherine also brings academic experience to her work, having served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law. She has completed 70 hours of mediator training and volunteers regularly with the Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center.

An active member of the legal and local communities, Katherine is affiliated with the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Bar College, and the Texas Association of Mediators. She is also an alum of the prestigious WE LEAD program and has participated in both the Patrick E. Higginbotham and Annette Stewart Inns of Court.

Katherine’s approach is centered on understanding each client’s unique goals and crafting solutions that align with their personal vision of the future. “This journey is stressful for most people on multiple levels. To help reduce those stress points, I have always believed in looking at the client’s situation holistically—and Hargrave Family Law does that too. We cater to each client as an individual, using both traditional and creative approaches to help them navigate some of the most difficult times of their lives.”
