Are you hiding spending from your spouse?

Below is an excerpt of a recent conversation Jennifer Hargrave had on This Morning.

Having financial issues is a common denominator among many of our clients, so yes, we definitely see financial issues arising in numerous divorces. Regarding financial infidelity, I believe it’s often a symptom of a marriage that isn’t working. Ideally, in a marriage, most of us hope to share common goals and dreams and work together with our partner to build a life.

However, this doesn’t always happen for a variety of reasons. For instance, we may not be effective at communicating our wants and dreams, or we struggle to discuss spending and money, which can be triggering topics.

As a result, many couples end up not communicating effectively. This lack of communication can lead to one partner spending without the other’s knowledge and trying to hide those purchases.
